Class #7 Final Project Work

Day 7 Agenda - Final Project ...

Objective: Continue planning, Designing and reflecting on your Scratch 3.0 Final projects. Remember to use the Design Journal I or II to record your classwork for each period.

Scratch Final Project Due Dates:  
7AC: 3/8/19
7BE: 3/12/19
 1. In today's class #7 please complete the Final Project Outline Planner. This information should reflect everything you've done to date and are planning to do to finish your project. Be certain to record all final project descriptions, steps, and resources. Place this in your Google Documents folder you are sharing with Ms. Norton in TecEd class.

2. Once your Planner is updated, and you've followed/listed the 8 Steps of the Engineering and Design Process as it relates to your project, you may create a new Scratch document for the final project and save appropriately.
Save as:
Final(Keyword)firstfullnamelastinitialsection
 note: the keyword should relate to the project content.
3. Continue working in/out of class to design your project using the Engineering and Design Process to assist in your project development.

4.Design Journal:
From now on the journal will note the class work accomplished for the day. The Final Project Outline Planner will be used to record all information related to the project!

Class #6 Scratch Final Project Introduction

Agenda #6 - Introduction to Scratch Final Project

Objective: Introduction to the Final Scratch Project requirements and expectations. Continue to use the Design Journal I or II as a resource to share with Ms. Norton. Be certain to record your final project plans in the Project Planner Outline.

Scratch Final Project Due Dates: 
7AC: 3/8/19
7BE: 3/12/19 
1. Discuss Writing Prompt #5 "Engineering and Design Process".

2. In today's class 6 the student is to view and share projects explored on the MIT Scratch Project site. Save the best projects in the My Studio folder (label folder:MITfavorites). Share at least one favorite with a classmate. The purpose of this is to gain more Scratch programming exposure/experience and to better determine your project plan.

3. Please complete filling in the Project Planner handed out in class. Submit this completed plan by the next class. (note: transfer this information into your design journal OR use the Final Project Planner Outline to record your plans, progress and resources). Be certain to share this in the TecED folder you have for this class.

4. Design Journal/HW: Final Project Statement of Purpose and resources found/used to assist in the project development OR use the Final Project Planner Outline  to record all final project descriptions, steps, resources... instead of the Design JournalPlace this in the Google Documents folder you are sharing with Ms. Norton in TecEd class.

Class #5 Fourth Mini Project


Agenda #5 - Finish the last mini-project (#4)

Objective: Continue to become familiar with Scratch 3.0 by learning game design & programming tips. Also, use the Design Journal to record/share your daily progress and writing prompt responses.

• Each student is expected to complete, save and submit the Mini-Projects on the project Links Google Document shared with Ms. Norton.  In today's class #5 the student is to complete the About Me (4th and final) mini-project.

Please copy/paste the save name link for each of the tips mini-projects in your google Project Links document. Please remember to click share. If time permits explore other projects.

1. Discuss Writing Prompt #4 "Learning by Designing".

2. Begin Fourth and final Mini Project: *About Me
How can you combine interesting images and sounds to make an interactive collage about yourself? Experiment with sprites, costumes, backdrops, looks, and sounds to create an interactive Scratch project that introduces yourself to others.

Open Scratch 3.0 Name your project and start creating...

4. Design Journal:

Answer the appropriate writing prompt and note the class work for the day.

Class #4 Third Mini Project

Agenda #4 - Third mini Project

Objective: The student will follow a Scratch Tutorial to learn the Basics of designing a scratch project. Also, S/he will reflect in the design journal and discuss writing prompt #3.

1. Open your Browser, Google Drive, Class Agenda4and  Scratch site. 

2. Review 3rd writing prompt, Computational Thinking...

3.  Start the third mini Project: AYN, Animate Your Name. Open Scratch 3.0, in the menu bar choose Tutorials and select "Animate a Name" tutorial. See the requirements sheet. Watch the video first, then code...

Save as: AYN first name last initial section

4. Design Journal entry.

Class #3 Second Scratch Mini Project

Agenda #3 - Exploring Scratch 3.0 Coding (Programming)

Objective: The student will follow a Scratch Tutorial to learn the Basics of designing a scratch project. Also, S/he will reflect in the design journal and discuss writing prompt #2.

1. Open your Browser, Google Drive, Class Agenda3 and  Scratch site.

2. Start a new Scratch Project, make sure you are signed into your Scratch account. View the Adventure Game tutorial video. Then create an Adventure Game project. See the Handout with the requirements.
Send your favorite Cartoon Network characters on a quest, from the farthest reaches of the universe to the edge of Craig's creek. Unlock secret treasures and discover new characters while creating an adventure game.
save as: Adventure Game first name last initial section.

3. Set up the:  Project Links document in Google Drive if not already done.

Make a copy: and place into our shared folder.  

4. Go to the Projects Page and Add  your link under the Adventure Game heading listed here.

5. Entry in Design Journal, summarize classwork (Discuss something you learned about Scratch 3.0) and note the homework.
